The Daniel Robertson Roman 50mm range brick remains a popular choice for its remarkable quality and appearance. The Roman brick range was developed when clients noticed the bricks in ancient buildings in Europe and in old English estates were slimmer than the Australian standard. The thinner European brick was only 50mm in height so more bricks can be used on the face of a wall than the standard 75mm brick.
The Roman bricks have more colour variation, taking on the appearance of a woven tapestry rather than a brick face wall. Visually, the brick appears longer, enhancing the horizontal dimensions of a building. This enables ceiling heights to be maximised when the building may otherwise appear too upright with a standard brick. Having worked closely with renowned Architect Frank Lloyd Wright to create sensational and inspiring designs with the Roman brick, the appearance of the thin brick has developed and evolved to capture an ageless appeal suitable for any era of design.
